Tiffany & Charles, parents of Alice & William
Our experience with the Winnicott was like that of the dozens of families who find themselves in the same situation every month. Our tiny fragile twins, Alice and William, 8 weeks premature were whisked away from us before we had the chance to touch them and taken somewhere unknown and frankly terrifying, their tiny bodies covered with wires and tubes.
When we reached the Unit, we were hit by the incredibly reassuring professionalism and warmth of the staff and knew our babies were in the best possible hands. This took a large part of the fear away. Alice and William were in the Unit for six weeks and we saw just how many babies’ lives they saved and how many terrified parents they comforted. It is a truly wonderful and important place that must be supported in every way possible.
